First Kairos Europe Consultation Held in Budapest
From the United Kingdom, Holland, Germany, Albania, Romania, Finland, Moldova and Macedonia - 35 Kairos Europe delegates gathered in Budapest from 12-15 November, 2009 for the 1st Kairos Europe Consultation. The venue was a ‘hotel ship’ on the Danube – Europe’s largest river —which flows through five countries. The three-day program included reports, upskilling of Kairos Facilitators, vision casting for Kairos expansion, fellowship and networking, spiritual input and post-Kairos initiatives. Max, Kairos International Director from the Philippines, also joined the consultation and presented a post-Kairos initiative on establishing centers for outreach for Least Reached Peoples (LRPs) in Europe. LRPs in Europe number 329 and include more than 2 million people. There was plenty of vision and faith among those who met in Budapest, and plans were shared to launch Kairos in 15 new countries in 2010.

A Sovereign Way for Kairos
There was never any doubt that it was going to be a significant time for the development of Kairos in one closed country. There were a number of remarkable circumstances which pointed to things coming together in a sovereign way. And so just recently, 12 participants finished the Kairos course in this country. The participants included leaders from several areas – a very strategic representation. Many of them were already involved with mission projects and doing cross-cultural work. Even after the first session the participants were already talking about how God was changing their mindset. As the growth point groups continued their discussions, many were saying how they would re-examine their lives in the light of what they were learning. As for future plans of the Kairos team handling the course, tops on the list is to have the course translated in the local language as soon as possible.

2nd Kairos Course in Bangla Held
God’s Kingdom work has continued unhindered in Bangladesh. The 2nd Kairos course in Bangla was recently held with 30 participants joining the course. The course was said to be more effective as it is now in the local language of the people. There was excellent feedback from the participants who were mostly pastors and church leaders. They are now asking for a Kairos course to be held for their own congregation and in their area. A passion for missions also continues to build up in Bangladesh. A “Student Mission Conference” was held recently with more than 200 university students joining the event, said to be the held for the first time in Bangladesh. The Kairos course reportedly played a key role towards this mission momentum in the country. An English Kairos has also been scheduled for the Youth with a Mission’s Discipleship Training School.

Updates from the US and the Philippines
Once again, the Lord did not fail to work in His people through Kairos. Such was the observation of the Kairos facilitating team that recently held a course in Florida, USA. Six participants joined the course: one participant is part of the Worship Jesus Fellowship Board while two were ministry heads in the said church. The course has sparked an excitement for the participants to be involved in the Great Commission. As for the Philippines, Pastor James, National Executive Minister, Division of Missions of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines (CAMACOP) reports that the Kairos course has now been integrated in one of their Bible colleges. He adds that a separate Kairos course has been scheduled for all the heads, academic deans and mission faculty of all CAMACOP Bible colleges and seminaries with the aim to eventually integrate the course in these learning institutions. Pastor James has brought the course to their missionaries in Japan; he is also keen in bringing the course to Hong Kong and India.
