9th Kairos Course in Mozambique
The 9th Kairos course in Mozambique was recently held in Chimoio. Nine participants from different nationalities (Mozambican, Ethiopian, Nigerian and Zambian) joined the course. The participants were also a mix of church workers, NGO staff and businessmen. But Steve, the Course Coordinator, is quick to attest in his repot that “there was a special connection during this course which only God could have brought about given the spectrum of nationalities and backgrounds.”
There were some challenges during the course. There was quite a heavy downpour during the course and it is said that when rain is that heavy in Mozambique, “life generally comes to a standstill.” It also made listening to the chapter introductions and watching the DVDs quite a challenge for the particular venue where the course was held. But things still turned out well. The last two sessions were done in another setting and proved to be a real blessing.
A Nigerian missionary couple worked along with Steve in running the course. This couple has a burden for mobilizing the Mozambican church and is excited about using the Kairos as a tool for mobilizing. They have a long-term missions experience in different places and they gave a valuable, different dimension in the Chimoio course.
