Kairos Australian National Leadership Team Formed

An Australian Kairos National Leadership team has been formed recently.  According to Elsabe de Wit, Kairos national coordinator in Australia, the purpose of this team is to steward the expansion and growth of the Kairos Course throughout the country in order to see churches and Christians mobilized into outreach to least-reached peoples.

The team will plan new strategies for Kairos and develop a good mentoring and coaching program.

The team has identified attitudes and character traits needed in building a sense of team among them:

  • Commitment to the goal, to the team members and to support leadership
  • Creating ownership of the purpose by involvement and decision-making
  • Creating team culture (the way we do things), Kairos language, cultural identity, celebrating success, sharing life outside of the team context. Increase in praise and encouragement should be the fuel on which they thrive.

The team spent time over lunch to discuss their different roles in a team and getting to know each other as many of team members had only contact through e-mail and phone calls before.

Most of the future meetings will be done electronically but the team will endeavor to get together at least once a year.
