Kairos Course in Bangladesh
Owen, Glynis and Franz ran a Kairos
Course in Dacca with 25 delegates. This course was conducted in English to
see the response of the
pastors and leaders who attended.
Glynis reports “We had a wonderful group – with good representation from various church groups and agencies. They were all very receptive and had good English comprehension. They responded very, very, well to the challenges & paradigms of Kairos and it has given us a SIGNIFICANT step forward in the process. Other highlights included 17 participants trained as facilitators and a GOOD experience in our 1st Buddhist Contextualized Worship service. The translation is underway and
has been speeded up by this course. The Bangladesh Kairos participants decided to sow some finances into the Nepalese translation – not huge in amount just US$42, but BIG for Bangladesh folk! PTL!).
We experienced God’s grace as we worked in VERY HOT, HUMID conditions – often with 3-5hours at a stretch of no electricity… thus NO air-con. NO fan, NO sound system, NO LCD but we coped! And were blessed! We return to Bangladesh for an INTRODUCTION TO KAIROS for the top leadership of Dhaka City (+some) and some update training for the facilitators and follow-up meeting for past participants - in November. I think we have climbed on the fast track!!!! PTL!!
