Updates from Hawaii and Mozambique

Sixteen Chukese believers in Hawaii recently took the Kairos course. Three pastors and six leaders were also in attendance.

The small crowd of participants filled a small living room of an apartment in Salt Lake, Honolulu Hawaii as Pat facilitated the course from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. At the end of this initial session, they agreed to move to Trinity Church for the remaining sessions.

Pastor Pete, pastor of Trinity Church of Central Oahu provided the scholarship of the 16 participants. Helping Pat was Nerleb, an extension instructor of a Bible School based in Chuuk Micronesia. He plans to translate the Kairos in Chuuk language soon.

In attendance also were 3 other pastors of Chuuk Christian Church of Honolulu, deacons and an evangelist from another church, who preaches three times a week at public gatherings like flea markets and parks. Pat, who recently attended the Kairos International Consultation in Thailand, is a Filipino mission mobilizer based in Hawaii.

A course was also recently held in Mozambique. Nineteen participants joined: 14 Mozambican, 2 Zambian, 3 Zimbabwean. Steve ran the course with a team of four young facilitators from Maforga.  People were challenged to see they had a part to play in global mission. One guy made a fresh commitment to follow Jesus on the last day.
