Kairos Time in Russia
“The Russian delegates totally grasped the worldview and all the values of Kairos…and are set to fly!” Linda, Kairos Europe director reports on the recent Kairos course in Russia. “Their growth points and responses were so rich and their creativity in the prayer focuses was an inspiration: we had rap, poem, drama and song,” she adds. It was a joy for her to work with an established team who will be able to work together to grow Kairos in Russia. Eighteen delegates finished the course; 12 went on to finish the Facilitators’ Training. Two Kairos courses are already planned in two cities by October this year. Hudson Taylor (1832-1905), founder of China Inland Missions, had prophesied in the past about fires igniting in Russia and then spreading across Europe. The excitement that has been stirred up in Russia with the recent Kairos course will perhaps help fulfil the spreading of fire – a fire in spreading out the Gospel of hope to the least reached peoples of Russia and beyond!

Kairos: An Eye-opening Course
Twelve participants, all graduates from Maziotela’s Leadership Training School and involved in running rural churches in the area, recently took the Kairos course at Maziotela in Northern Mozambique. For most of the participants, it was an eye opener to see the many peoples who have yet to hear about Jesus with cultures and religions very different to their own. They were challenged and inspired not to forget their unreached neighbors and to reach out to them in love. Five facilitators helped Steve, the Head Facilitator, to run the course.

The participants were filled with excitement when they finished the course. They understood that God wants them to participate in missions so that He can be glorified. They also had a short outreach program in one area where a large least reached people group (LRP) lived. The experience challenged them even more to be involved in missions. Don Richardson: Live in the Philippines!
Just last month, a number of Kairos graduates in the Philippines had the privilege of seeing Don Richardson live as he himself came to be a blessing to the ministry of LSI and to key cities in the Philippines. Don had pioneered work for World Team among the Sawi tribe of Irian Jaya (now Papua, Indonesia) from 1962-1977 and has since been serving as Minister-at-Large for World Team, speaking frequently in missions conferences and in Perspectives classes of the U.S. Center for World Mission. Don spent three days taping at LSI for new Kairos teaching videos that will be used for the 4th Kairos edition slated to be launched next year. He also did some taping for the Perspectives course which will be offered at LSI in September this year. A number of Kairos graduates came and listened to his teaching during the actual taping. Don also conducted seminars and visited churches in Metro Manila, Cebu City and Davao City. He also had a meeting with mission leaders held in Metro Manila coordinated by Summer Institute of Linguistics Philippines.

Youth Kairos Held at LSI
Eleven young people recently took the Youth Kairos at Living Springs Center in Butuan City. What is distinctive in this batch is they had this general excitement about actually serving as goers or missionaries in the field! They do admit that they still look forward to more training and preparation before they could go and serve cross-culturally. But they have been certainly awakened to God’s heart for the nations! According to them, the Integration session of the course has helped them see how to keep the vision alive in their daily life.
