Brief History

Kairos carries a message for the churches of Australia, and the seeds of a vision to be planted in the hearts of every local church. Now is the time, our ‘Kairos’ time for the Church to seize the opportunity to make God's name known throughout the whole world by being strategically involved in Christian World Mission.

The Kairos Australian Team desires is to see the Kairos Course available right across Australia, being a means by which Christians are challenged to embrace God's passion for His name to be known throughout the whole world in every people group.

The first Kairos Course was delivered in Australia in 2001 in Queensland. Since that time many courses have been run across Australia - in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia. Some of these courses have been run in Cantonese and Mandarin through the Chinese Church in Australia. The course is now available to Chinese Christians worldwide, thanks to the dedication of a team within Australia who undertook the translation of this material.

In August 2011 the Kairos Australian State Teams for Queensland and New South Wales were officially instituted with more State teams to follow. These teams have a vision to see more and more local churches host Kairos courses and use this tool as a launching pad for involvement in Christian Cross Cultural Mission that impacts the world for Jesus.

Courses

The next Kairos Missions Discipleship Course in Newcastle is planned to be on Thursday nights in Term 1:

Time: 7:00 to 9:30 pm.
Dates: 9 Thursday nights from 2nd Feb to 29th March, 2012
Cost: $95 (concession $75).
Venue: Mayfield Baptist Church, cnr. Hanbury and Highfield St, Mayfield, Newcastle.
