Kairos Makes Its Way in Rwanda

Kairos is now in Rwanda!  The first course was held last November 3-7 at the National University of Rwanda in Butare.  There were 25 participants, including a pastor, a civil servant, a businessman and students. Majority of the participants were final year students.

The course was received positively. Victor, a graduate who was set to take a Masters Degree said: "Kairos teaches any Christian who wants to please God what is essential in life, where to invest and for what cause to live.  It contains what people like us who didn't go to a mission school need to know about missions. I can see that God is giving us Rwandese a tool that will help us to mobilize the Church for mission."

There was more than 'talk' in Victor. He wrote his family after Kairos (his father was a former ambassador) and informed them that the degree would have to wait.  He wanted to sort out the purposes of God for his life with regard to missions.

Grace, another participant said: "It opens the eyes of an African Christian to the fact that he is also called to mission.

"I'd rather die than be uninvolved in what God is doing in Mission," was how Jardoux, another participant, summed up his testimony about the course.

As for Lambert, the course “was sent by God.” He was just recently appointed to coordinate missions with UGBR (local chapter of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students). He said when he was given that responsibility he did not know what to do.  Kairos has helped him with this new assignment.
