Kairos Blazes New Trail, Brings Paradigm Shift to Youth in Kenya
Kairos blazes a new trail in the North Eastern province of Kenya as an Intensive course was held in its capital, Garissa. Garissa, bordering Somalia, is about 300 kilometers from Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi.
Nine participants, six of them Kenyan missionaries to Least Reached People Groups (LRPGs) in that region completed
the course. They received the course well with the desire to see more of their colleagues go through it.
The contextualized worship was especially an eye-opener. It was a transforming experience for the participants who have always expected different people groups to worship like everybody else, irregardless of one’s cultural background. As participants dressed up like the local peoples and joined the contextualized worship, their perspectives were changed.
Plans to hold a facilitator’s training course are underway.
Meanwhile, some 17 young people from the different regions of Kenya joined another Kairos Intensive and experienced a paradigm shift.
These young people have just completed high school and are in the process of preparing for college or work. But after finishing the Kairos Intensive, they are all out on short-term mission trips in four different locations reaching to LRPGs.
