Kairos Course in North East India

A Kairos course was recently held in the Khasi Presbyterian Church in North East India.

The Khasi church was pioneered by Welsh missionaries as a result of the Welsh revival. Today, 80% of the Khasi people are Christian.

Last year, the church experienced revival. New life and energy flowed into the church along with a growing vision for missions. The Khasi Chruch realized its neglect of cross-cultural missions and is now eager to make amends.

With 60% of North East India’s population being Hindu and 20% Muslim, there is no shortage of “fields” for the Khasi church to work in.

Max and Dorothy Chismon, who ran the course in North East India have been invited to go back, possibly in November this year, to conduct a series of mission meetings with top Presbyterian leaders and a Kairos course for Presbyterian pastors and missionaries.

An urgent need in North East India right now is a “Kairos” missionary. This missionary’s focus will include setting up Kairos among various groups and languages in Northeast India for a period of two years. Those who are interested can contact Max Chismon.
