Kairos Intensive Held In The US, Foundations for Spanish Kairos Set

“Kairos changed my perspective not just about mission but about church and discipleship.”

“A great vehicle to help people grasp the mission of Jesus.”

“My passion for mission has been refocused and re-centered on the unreached. God has confirmed His calling for me to be an intercessor for the nations and to teach my kids the Kairos message.”

These were some of the comments of the participants of the recent five-day Kairos intensive course in Vancouver, Washington, USA. The course was organized for a selected group of potential facilitators including those who have been keen in translating the Kairos course into Spanish.

According to Linda, Kairos International Course Coordinator: “After many false starts for a Spanish Kairos, this plan for a Kairos intensive was conceived over the breakfast table in Chiang Mai in October and it was very exciting to see it unfold and see the hand of God in every detail. God certainly had HIS best plan…and it was a Kairos time for all those who participated.” Randy, Geof and Linda comprised the facilitating team of the course.

Almost all of the participants use Spanish as either their 1st or 2nd language. Two very significant Mexican leaders also joined the course including Luisana, Randy’s wife who is from Ecuador. Two pastors also joined the course as well as two missionaries working among the Aymara people in Peru. One missionary planned to run the course in his home church in California while he is back for a three-month furlough but he left with the additional vision to run it in Peru. A Canadian lady who is set to join Geof’s team in Venezuela also joined the course.

According to Linda: “the course was contested with extraordinary levels of sickness, accidents, in all the families involved in the course, or hosting people…but intercessors were mobilized, and we saw Gods protection and provision!”

MINISTRY IN GROWTH POINT GROUPS

Other outcomes from the course: seeing a Spanish editorial team established and the beginnings of a Latin/South American strategy group.
