Kairos in Thailand ready to explode!
These developments are even more remarkable when we consider the 180 year history of Christianity in Thailand. Thailand is one of the oldest, but most resistant, mission fields in Asia. Buddhism has dominated Thailand since the eleventh century and Thais have resisted the Gospel message from the time it was first introduced in 1828. The small number of Christians has given rise to a church that often regards itself as a “small, threatened island in the midst of a sea of Buddhism.” Recent statistics show that there are only 200,000 baptized Protestant Christians in a total population of 65 million people. But what the Thai Church may lack in quantity it sure makes up with quality!
The Thai Church’s missions burden is very much for Indo-China with a special interest in Laos!
In the coming twelve months fourteen Kairos courses are planned and more Facilitators Training Course as well! Please pray for the leadership team comprising Chayiot and Gayle Wansong, Lorraine Dierck and Chumsaeng Reong who, incidentally, did a superb job in translating the Kairos material!
